Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.
Police say they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Officials state early analysis suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to its source; authorities are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.
City officials said they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for details.
A high-ranking official stated the vandalism left him speechless and had to be resolved quickly.
"This act hits the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of migrant background in 2020.
